Nuclear power generation is limited by a shortage of fuel:
"Overall, uranium is relatively scarce in the earth's crust, at about 4 parts per million on average. Therefore, a significant expansion of nuclear power -- even the five-fold expansion widely canvassed before the incidents at Three Mile Island and (much more disturbing) at Chernobyl -- would out-run readily accessible supplies. These supplies include both deposits previously exploited but mothballed due to lack of current demand, and known high concentration pockets that could be opened up quite quickly. Therefore, the expansion of nuclear would highlight the need to bring rapidly back on course the development of fast-breeder reactors and pursue fusion technology." [ p. 90, ENERGY FOR TOMORROW'S WORLD; World Energy Council, 1993 ]
"Further, nuclear energy, if exploited only in its present form, does not represent an exceedingly long-term source of energy. The basic fuel stock, uranium, is in finite supply. Although there is some debate regarding the quantities of available uranium ore, there is general consensus that the available feedstock will fuel the current generation fission reactors only for decades, not centuries However, it has long been recognized that it is possible to design fission reactors in a manner to convert 'fertile' material into a 'fissile' material, thereby greatly extending the useable fuel supply. The USA, UK, and France have all dropped their "fast-breeders" because they are "too costly and of doubtful value"! http://dieoff.com/page155.htm
- when it happens
In case you all hadn't noticed, the world is falling apart. I posted here back on September 11th, 2007 that the finance world was going to fall apart. http://crucial-systems.com/For_those_of_you_that_dont_pay_attention_to_the_world_of_finance The reason I fled New York was that I could see quite clearly that the wheels were going to come off that wagon and the US may very well collapse into chaos. Alarmist, yes. That's what alarms are for. The solid truth is that the financial markets always precede the real ...
- Artist Dr. Steven Kurtz cleared of all charges
This was the most bat shit crazy episode in the whole Bush Gestapo Era. Charges are finally dropped, but as Kurtz states, there is no re-compensation for him. The case originated in May 2004, when Kurtz's wife Hope died of heart failure as the couple was preparing a project about genetically modified agriculture for the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Police who responded to Steve Kurtz's 911 call deemed the Kurtzes' art materials suspicious and alerted the FBI. Kurtz explained ...
Dick in 2004. Right. So what were they thinking the second time round ? Its time to get the whole middle east powder keg going. Its time to destroy the US itself USSR-Afghanistan style, thus opening it up for corporate takeover. Its time for Armageddon. They are in contact with space aliens, and its the aliens that told them they had to do it. The so-called Left should give up trying to reason with these people and saying America got ...
- respect to the deserters
At an Army base in Alaska last year, "there was one guy who literally chopped off his trigger finger with an axe to prevent his deployment," Dr. Thomas Grieger, a senior navy psychiatrist said in an interview. New york times, mon april 9th, 2007 Respect. More respect then I give to the Buddhist monk in Thailand who cut off his penis because it wouldn't sit still during meditation. Interesting: The desertion rate during the Vietnam war was 5% (NYT)

- pan-dimensional beings experience things differently
Wouldn't it be great if there were beings on earth who didn't experience events in the linear sequence of time, but instead experienced events sorted by Relevance. So while we were just enjoying what had happened or what was going to come up... they would be getting more and more excited or increasingly disinterested. Its the biggest human joke that we expect aliens to experience the same time scale as us, or even to experience time. Most people still expect ...
[[The Rastabomba]] said i buy a electric generator why on earth go buy a solar panel, a convertor, some storage batteries, and hooking up a simple propeller like a windmill to dat and sun not shine breeze blow and you generating power. don't take much. for $5000 you can put in a solar unit in your house which supply you with all the power you need. i have a little cabin up in the hills in jamaica, a little hut. ...
- exponential growth
What happens when growth approaches fixed limits and is forced to give way to some form of equilibrium? Are there choices before us that lead to alternative world futures? … Exponential growth does not continue forever. Growth of population and industrialization will stop. If man does not take conscious action to limit population and capital investment, the forces inherent in the natural and social system will rise high enough to limit growth. The question is only a matter of when ...
