It’s december and almost the end of this lovely crisis year. Well, not for Rebel Up! and 2009 has been an excellent year for us with almost every time a nicely filled OCCII. Time for another special Rebel Up! party! We have teamed up with the good folks of A’dam global bass crew 
Bomb Diggy and made tasty global lineup for ya!

Tonight’s special guest is Timeblind, aka Chris Sattinger from the States, who travels on many musical roads such as dancehall, jungle, hip-hop, proto-dubstep,global dub and tropical tunes. He has been part of the New York illbient scene in the early 00’s,trotted around India for a while and is currently living & working in Berlin, the hotspot for experimental music. His set will be a combination of a live PA set with a dj set in heavy global and tropical spheres! Do check out his site or myspace for sounds & mixes.

We will also be joined by mystery man Sonido del Principe, honcho of the excellent Generation Bass blog. Expect some chewed up cumbia, mashed up with some serious bass and latino & caribbean sounds. It will be impossible not to shake 

The Rebel Up! & Bomb Diggy soundboy crews will surely battlespin tunes before, inbetween & after. We’ll go any worldly direction possible. Cultureclashing visuals will come by our talented Rebel Up vj’s VJ M & Normal Con Alas. Expect everything!

The charity cause tonight will an organisation in Kenya, named Global Giving. It’s a project that aids a nursery school and rescue center for orphans and vulnerable children in the Kibera slums. The organization is all locally run — and supports about 100 children. Like so many orgs, they have received funding cuts from their major donor and are really in need of growing their funding base. We’ll go around with a collection box during the night and as always we donate the profits from the doormoney.

Yeah, already back in Vechtclub from last week’s African night. Lucky you.
Tonight will be a very different night though, with the theme *Global Dub* where we want to focus on mashing dub & steppas with the new global sound. Expect a lot of layers that will go deep into your body and belly!

The night will be kicked off early by dubmaster DJ Daddy Don, who will spin some UK Steppas selection that will make the floor vibrate with bass. Your faithfull Rebel Up! DJ & VJ crew willl create new worldly spheres in colourfull sound & visuals with a tropical touch. The Eat This! & DUBieus crews will go for a 3-way battle; back2back2back! DJ’s Bastiaan (Eat This), DJ + (DUBieus) andChrome (DUBieus) will seriously beatclash, stepping into overgrown urban paths and dark alleyways.

Well, this surely will be some heavy bass filled tropical night, don’t forget your swimming outfit!

Timeblind ist ein musikalischer Wissenschaftler aus New York, zurzeit in Berlin lebend. Er veröffentlichte auf Labels wie Rupture's Soot Records, Orthlorng Musork, Tigerbeat6/Shockout label als auch die 90er Jahre Techno labels Probe, Missile, Synewave zbd Communique. Timeblind ist immer versucht, die Grenzen der Sound System Musik der Vergangenheit und Zukunft zu erweitern. Sein 2003 Remix für DJ Rupture's The Agriculture zeigte eine neue Art von Vermischung aus Grime und Dubstep und erscheint regelmässig auf Mixtapes und DJ Sets. Auf seinem neu erschienenen Release VERSION präsentiert er uns die neusten Mutationen des Dubstepvirus.

Geroyche feiert mit dem Rest des Ruff-E-Nuff Mobbbs, seinem guten Freund KarlMarxStadt/Society Suckers sowie einem ganz speziellen Gast aus Berlin. Der Exil-New Yorker Timeblind hat in den 90ern unter anderem Namen mit Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Joey Beltram usw. gespielt und auf Labels wie Probe und Kanzleramt veröffentlicht. Danach wurde er experimenteller und es kam viel einflussreiches u.a.auf den Labels von Kid606, Kid Clayton und Dj /Rupture. Momentan ist er dem futuristischem Dubstep verschrieben und rockt damit Tanzflächen weltweit.

Clandestino Festival has been arranged annually in Gothenburg, Sweden since 2003. The Clandestino Festival relates not only to recent migration movements and the multicultural diversity that characterises many of Europe segregated urban areas. It also strives to challenge the most common forms of expression used to represent cultural differences, and highlight the consequences of these representations for migrants in Sweden and elsewhere. Clandestino provokes people to rethink multiculturalism in a new way, beyond the ‘folklorification’ and the deeply rooted preoccupation with representing the other in exotic and demonizing terms. Through progressive dj-sessions, electronic and acoustic concerts, literary and visual events Clandestino has, both theoretically and practically, developed a critique of contemporary forms of colonial classification relating to the manufacture of culture in Western countries.

Last week at Raum 18 I did the NGOMA party in the 1st room. This week I'll be heading up the second room, playing mostly dubstep (a little UK Funky, but I think the dubstep heads in Berlin think of it as house. which it is). Quite looking forward to playing that room actually since I can hear the speakers directly and its a really good dancefloor.
