Mike Wolf

Mike Wolf has held many jobs around the lunatic fringes of the music
industry, the less unsavory of which include years with Amphetamine Reptile
Records in Minneapolis (1991-'96) and New Zealand label Flying Nun, running
their U.S. branch in Chapel Hill ('96-'97). He was music director/primary
instigator for punk-rock college radio station Radio-K (before it was even
known as such and, sadly, long after punk rock mattered), and also spent
five years DJing at First Ave in Minneapolis, where he always felt like he
was getting away with something ridiculous. Mike was always an anxious kid,
but through "positive thinking" he has mellowed out considerably.
Inexplicably, and much to the continuing shock of friends (see section
labeled "Timeblind"), he is now fond of spinning straight and pure techno
records, rocksteady, hip-hop, dub and epic psychedelia, in addition to just
plain songs. He lists his major life achievement simply as "that dog." Mike
currently makes up lies about unlistenable music for the well-respected
pamphlet Time Out New York ( http://www.timeoutny.com ), using only a
satchel of $5 adjectives and two small mirrors. If he never had to speak on
the telephone ever again, that would be just okay.

Rgds!
